ALL TERRAIN CRANE AUXILIARY HOIST WIRE ROPES

APPLICATION

There are multiple purposes for Auxiliary hoist wire ropes on All Terrain Cranes. 

1.)Dual Lifting Operations in conjunction with the main hoist system. Essential when doing Tilt Up Concrete form work, Boiler Change outs, Load Turning and more.

2.)Lighter Loads - The Auxiliary winch is often for lighter duty applications. This is because the auxiliary winch normally utilizes a smaller diameter wire rope and does not utilize a hook block to multiply its pulling power. Since there is only a single part of line, the winch is capable of hoisting or lowering loads much quicker than the main hoist. 

3.) Confined Spaces - Multi Part Hook Blocks can be quite large and may not fit between girders, skylights, vessel engine rooms or otherwise. Therefore, utilizing the auxiliary winch in conjunction with a narrow headache ball or swivel is preferable.
